Oscar Nominated "Restrepo" film maker killed
Oscar-nominated film maker Tim Hetherington, who produced "Restrepo" was killed today in Libya. Fighting in Libya's besieged rebel city of Misrata killed at least 10 civilians including the Oscar-nominated British film maker. Tim Hetherington, co-director of Oscar-nominated war documentary "Restrepo," and American photographer Chris Hondros, were killed when a group they were in came under mortar fire.
His directorial debut film "Restrepo" about a platoon of soldiers in Afghanistan, was awarded the Grand Jury Prize at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival. The 2010 film was also nominated for a Best Documentary Feature Academy Award.
